A very fine Sussex walk: part three: Exceat and the Seven Sisters with "The Pride of Sussex" & Clustered Bellflowers

From East Dean steps lead straight up the hill to the viewpoint above.  Click on any picture to expand it.
Most people follow the concrete track in the valley and then the South Downs Way to the first of the Seven Sisters.  A more pleasant route, in my opinion, is to take the alternative path up the hill to the view above towards open access land.
The open access area is glorious with bellflowers:  Clustered Bellflower, Campanula glomerata

and The Pride of Sussex, the County Flower of Sussex, the Round-headed Rampion, Phyteuma  tenerum, flowering together with Clustered Bellflowers.  What a joy to behold!

Crowds stand dangerously close to the cliff edge -- unaware perhaps that it can collapse at any time.
From the trig' point a path leads down to the cliffs, by which time the crowd was no more.  On the cliff path and then up to Crowlink I passed no other walker.
This is one of the finest walks in Sussex at any time of year and especially now in summer.  These pictures are from my walk on 26th July 2016.
