Fox cub poses for me this mid-morning

Mid morning on a beautiful sunny day and the Vixen might be away somewhere in full daylight looking for food for three cubs.  She was drinking from the pond at 08.30 hr. and then went off out of my garden.
A suspected female Orange tip butterfly on my Garlic mustard plants caught my eye and I rushed to photograph it.  I was disappointed that it turned out to be a small white.
I was about 7 m away from the fox's den when there was some movement.  I crouched down in open view on the lawn and shot these pictures.

Vixen has THREE cubs, it now seems.

There are THREE fox cubs out this morning with Mum.  The bean net is in the way.  It will have to come down now the cubs are so photogenic.

Temple of Vesta

Having spent a few days in Roma.  A few pic's follow from hundreds that were taken!

More fox cub pictures

Mum is having a rest, but what are the twins up to?
 Here they come.
If I pretend to be asleep, perhaps they will leave me alone.
 Let's see.
 Wake up Mum!  Play time!

Vixen produces two cubs again this year in my garden.

Pictures of two fox cubs today playing gingerly outside of their den in my garden at midday.
Photos shot from an upstairs window through an apple tree.

Sunday 13th April 2014. Photographing Early-purple Orchids walk from Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex.

The walk set off from Hurstpierpoint
to Wolstonbury Hill and back in a 6.5 miles circular route.

It was part of the Mid Sussex Ramblers' programme; click the link for details of future walks.

The walk was free of charge and 15 persons enjoyed
beautiful weather and glorious spring flowers.
The Early-purple Orchids were in the peak of condition.

After a short briefing on successful photography of orchids, the group set to with their cameras.

We climbed the hill for a picnic lunch on the leeward side, sheltered from the light winds.
Bluebells and wood anemones were spectacular in the woods as we circled back, as was the Speckled wood butterfly below.

And after the walk there is nothing more refreshing than a pint or two of "Sussex Gold" ale from Arundel brewery in the New Inn.
